While Eli Field is primarily intended to be enjoyed by club members for normal daily use, the club will occasionally hold events inviting RC enthusiasts from all over to enjoy the many facets of RC modeling.

May 8, 2010 - M3 Builders contest
This is designed to showcase the design and building efforts of all our members. Simple rules and open flying day.

June 3- 6, 2010 - JR AeroTow
Piatt County Airport. Pilots from across the nation join us for 4 days of intense model glider flying. See Gliders up to 8 meters in wingspan be towed aloft by our fleet of 80-100cc tow planes/

June 10-13, 2010 - Illini SuperJets
Our second annual jet flyin has been moved to June so we can enjoy warmer weather and host a larger crowd. Last year saw 28 pilots with over 40 jets attend...come out and join the fun.

July 3, 2010 – Open House and Fireworks
This is open to all AMA members to join us for a day/night of flying. Food, music and fun will be had and finish with the Monticello Fireworks display visible from our field at 9:30pm. Bring the entire family for a great day of fun!

August 7-8, 2010 – Eli Field Giant Scale Flyin
This is open to all AMA members and will follow IMAA Guidelines for aircraft size (minimum 80” monoplane, 60” Biplane, or 1⁄4 scale aircraft only) IMAA membership is not required but will be available at the field. Come out, see some great airplanes, and enjoy the fun and camaraderie.

Sept. 17-19, 2010 – JR Challenge NC Region IMAC Championships
Come out and watch the best in our region. Large scale models with up to 200cc engines will compete for year end honors and awards in the aerobatic duel of the year. Don’t miss this!

Second Sunday Club Fly & Barbecue. Come out and enjoy the company of your fellow club members every Second Sunday of the month through the flying season. Bring out your airplanes and plan to spend the day with friends and family. We’ll have grills available for ‘the burn your own meat’ competition, and if we could all bring a dish to share potluck style that would be great as well. See you Sundays!
